This is a [house + small store] project for a couple who are planning to build a new house. The husband, who enjoys coffee, and his wife, who also enjoys coffee and making sweets, wanted to open a small cafe that would be open only during the summer. The couple wanted to create a place where neighbors and coffee lovers could gather from far away, so they took advantage of the fact that there are no houses next to the house and the area is open to the public to create a form of house that would become an icon of the town. We tried to make the iconic form of the house stand out by placing the common "house shape" on top of the compact volume of the cafe to create height. On the exterior, matte stainless steel plates with a smooth finish serve as waterproofing at the same time. The roof has a 3.5/10 slope, and the spaces on both sides of the site serve as approaches to the outdoor seating of the cafe in summer and as spaces for falling snow in winter. The ground floor is used as a small cafe, and the second and third floors are used as residences. The structure of the building was designed as a wooden structure based on the couple's outdoor hobbies, and the space has the calmness of wood. Since both the husband and wife work remotely, the third floor has a workspace that overlooks the second floor. In addition, a slightly larger balcony on the back side of the second floor provides a space where friends can be invited for a barbecue on weekends.

新築の住宅を計画している、とある夫婦のための[住宅+小規模店舗]の用途による建築。夫婦はもともとコーヒーが趣味の夫と、同じくコーヒーとお菓子作りを趣味に持つ妻との2人で、夏季のみ営業する小さなカフェを開きたいと考えていた。近所の住人とコーヒー好きの人がちょっと遠くから集まるような場にしたいと考えている夫婦のために、隣地に住宅がなく周囲に開けているという特徴を生かし、街のアイコンとなるような住宅のフォルムを目指した。 一般的ないわゆる「家の形 (House Shape)」を、コンパクトなボリューム感のカフェの上に乗せることで高さを生み出しアイコニックなフォルムをより目立たせようとした。外装は平滑仕上を施したマットなステンレスプレートが同時に防水の役割を果たす。屋根は3.5/10勾配であり、敷地両サイドのスぺースが夏季はカフェの屋外席へのアプローチとなり、冬季は落雪スぺースとなる。 地上階を小さなカフェ店舗とし、その上の2階と3階を住居という構成とした。夫婦のアウトドアな趣味から構造は木造として考案し、木の落ち着きのある空間とした。夫と妻共にリモートワークのスタイルであることから3階部分には2階を見下ろせるワークスぺースを設けている。また2階部分の裏手側にはやや広めのバルコニーを設けることで、週末には友人などを招いてバーベキューなどもできるようなスペースを設けた。
